For the World Trade Organization. Evaluated the Standards and Trade Development Facility, taking an in-depth look at the overall performance of STDF’s global partnership across all its work areas, with a focus on the current Strategy period (2020-2024). The study, which is the fifth evaluation of the STDF to date, highlights STDF's continued relevance and sets out six strategic recommendations to shape its future direction.
For the Standards and Trade Development Facility. Conducted an evaluation of the ePhyto Solution - a global electronic certification system for the exchange of phytosanitary certificates used in the trade of plants and plant products. The evaluation included cases studies of ePhyto implementation in Samoa and Ghana. In addition, over 70 stakeholders in both the public and private sectors in developed and developing economies were interviewed.
For British International Investment. Developed an economic analysis of the economic and fiscal impact of subsidiary investment in the Port of Berbara, Somaliland that included forecasting of trade, GDP effects, employment and revenue resulting from reduced trans-shipment requirements and improved port performance.
For the Department for International Development (DfID)'s Legal Assistance for Economic Reform (LASER) Programme: Authored a study on approaches and best practices for evaluating the Value for Money of commercial law and justice reforms in developing country contexts via cost benefit analysis. The study includes economic analyses by the LASER team of civil law and contracting reforms in various sub-Saharan African and Asian countries through application of the guidance.
For Trademark East Africa: Development and implementation of the TMEA Results Meter, a monitoring and evaluation tool and simplified dashboard that aggregates performance across the TMEA portfolio and estimates performance against key TMEA targets - regional, attributable transport time savings, economic cost reduction, and regional trade growth.
For the Department for International Development (DfID): Cost benefit assessment of improvements to the Ntungamo – Mirama Hills Road and Kagitumba/Mirama Hills border crossing between Uganda and Rwanda.
For Trademark East Africa: Cost benefit assessment of Trademark East Africa's Transport and Trade Investments in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan. Evaluation of Country level programmes and twelve individual investment projects, including port, roadway, customs procedures, customs infrastructure, standards testing and procedure, and revenue raising measures.
For the Ministry of Finance, Rwanda: Technical design and implementation of Rwanda National Public Investment Evaluation Program.
For International Growth Centre: Evaluation of telecommunications regulation in East Africa.
